Come to hear from council candidates from across Sydney tell us how they plan to increase housing abundance and ease the housing crisis. This will start with panel discussion moderated by a Sydney YIMBY rep, then move into Q&A from the audience. We'll be kicking off at 7:30pm sharp, with doors opening at 7pm. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Ride the metro with some friends from Sydney YIMBY!  With the metro opening on Monday, we won't be running a formal event, but if you're looking for an excuse to check it out, a few folk from Sydney YIMBY will be going for an informal ride on Saturday afternoon.  We'll meet at Chatswood, and ride to Sydenham, then go for a drink in the sun at the Marrickville Bowlo. All welcome! When: This Saturday 24th August Schedule: 1:15-1:30pm- meet at Chatswood station (main concourse, near McDonalds) 1:30pm: Get on Metro and ride to Sydenham, with stops at Crows Nest and Barangaroo ~2:15pm: Get off at Sydenham and walk to Marrickville Bowlo ~2:30pm-onwards: drinks at Marrickville Bowlo.    

Last month, we celebrated a year since our launch. And what a year it’s been! The conversation has changed and our movement for housing abundance gains momentum- with a few big wins along the way. We’d like to invite all our members to join an online briefing at 8pm on Thursday 15 August to look back at the year that was and share our plans for the rest of this year. Come ride the metro with Sydney YIMBY! Celebrate the opening of this transformative piece of infrastructure and get your gunzel on with fellow YIMBYs. We'll meet at Chatswood Station, and ride all the way to Sydenham (in just 20 minutes)! Detached houses make up more than 80% of residential land in middle ring suburbs; this is completely unsustainable.
