Inner West Council are having a forum for the public to speak ahead of their final vote to decide on the Fairer Future Plan for 30,000 homes. We need as many of you to attend as possible to send the message that the community does support more homes. We'll be bringing our new batch of Sydney YIMBY T-shirts for everyone who attends, so make sure to tell us your size! You'll need to register via council's page to speak, we'll send you a link when you register. If you've never spoken before and note sure how to do it we can also help you structure what you want to say.

NIMBYs are holding a public meeting to protest Council’s plan to permit 30,000 new homes. We’d like you to come along to highlight the people left out of this discussion: renters and anyone who can’t afford a $2m house. The organisers of this event all bought decades ago, so get to prioritise their fear of tall buildings over affordability. Sydney YIMBY's monthly drinks are coming to Parramatta! Come along to hear from members of the leadership team, chat to fellow YIMBYs and learn about how you can make a difference in the fight for more housing. This will be the biggest council meeting in a couple of years: they're presenting their plans to upzone Marrickville, Dulwich Hill and Ashfield to go on exhibition and we need to have as many people as possible to show there's public support for more homes in the inner west. The last two times this rezoning has been pushed the NIMBYs have shown up in force and won - we need to turn the tide and show there's broad public support.

Join us to learn about how the planning system works and how to advocate within it for more housing. We'll also be talking about our recent win with 500 homes to be built on the Westconnex dive site in Camperdown, including 200 affordable homes for health workers, due to effective pressure from the YIMBY movement. The event will be at Ashfield Town Hall, we'll send more specific instructions closer to the date. Admission is free but please RSVP so we can make sure we have enough room.

Come join us at 67-73 Lords Rd, Leichhardt for a public meeting about an 8 storey apartment development being held by the local MP Kobi Shetty. We know NIMBYs will be out in force so need some pro-housing voices to show that people care about affordability.
